My name is Michael Letting, born in Nandi South, forth born in a family of four. My father died before I ever saw him and I was raised by my mother who is 66 years now.

I finished my primary school in 2006 and was enrolled in a special high school which I finished in 2010. I managed to survive through support from AIC church then later my cousin helped in raising me as I started training for marathon.

In 2012, I began training as an athlete and in 2013 I represented my country as part of the national team to Bulgaria, where I won Bronze Medal.

In 2015-2017 I was selected to represent Kenya for the deaf in Turkey and I won the silver medal.

A lot happened to bring me down after that but I never gave up. I have been training for the world championship 2023 in Poland and Olympics that will happen in China in 2025.

I want to thank Mr. Craig Hacche and the Makena Scholarship Program for assisting me with the basic gear for an athlete and also providing me with monthly food. This assistance has enabled me to focus in my practice sessions in order to do well in the marathon. Thank you and I hope to make you proud one day.
