Diana Jepkemboi

My name is Diana Jepkemboi. I am 20 years old. I was born on 31st January 2002 in a village called Maili Tisa, Leseru sublocation Catron location, Turbo sub county, Uasin Gishu county in Kenya. I am Kenyan by birth and I speak English, Kiswahili and Kalenjin fluently. I’m the first born in a family of 5 siblings. I’ve been brought up by a single parent. My mother’s name is Ruth Jelagat.

I live with my family and attend church at I.V.C Baharini. I serve in the youth department.

After my secondary education, my mother was not able to pay for further education although I had succeeded in my education. i was forced to stay with my admission letter because I had no fees. I resorted to manual jobs for sustainability to help my mother raise the other children. I had no hope to study any further.

My dream to be an example to my siblings was brought to reality when I got a chance to join college. This was after my pastor, Peter Musili, heard about my situation and decided to connect me with his friends who with a very generous heart agreed to pay my school fees. I was very excited and it gave me hope for a brighter future.

My aspiration in life is to work to my level best to give my family and community a better future. I want to be someone the other children can look up to especially because I come from a very poor neighborhood.

Access to education has given me a chance to gain knowledge to help me know how well to live in the society. My family and community will greatly benefit from the skills I will acquire. I’m glad that I can finally transform my family and the community at large.
